In Vain was born over a year ago in Salem by Cody Perez. After many attempts to find the right sound and musicians to work with, he finally found the guys fit for the band. Out of anger to the direction the music scene was going in, Cody, Jeremy, and Nick decided to bring back the heaviness in the local music scene that had been lacking for some time now. After a few line up changes from guitarists, to drummers, they were finally established by April of 2005. The name In Vain came from the mear fact that music was being taken in vain. Society has set a trend of what is popular and what is in. The popular music is all the same and the lyrics are fake. People have been playing music to make money and have forgotten that the music is what really matters. Society has taken life in vain for far too long and vocalist Cody Perez is inspired by that in his lyrics. After writing together and structuring songs, they played shows in Salem, Portland and hit up other locations throughout Oregon as well. With some of the craziest things seen live from any local act, In Vain definatly brought the energy into the crowd and brought out the mind set of destruction in every one of their shows. In Vain decided to call it quits in late August 2005 just when they were getting exposed and building a great fan base around. They all went off with their own music and did their things, but a little over a year later, now we are back together to fuck up the local scene and put a death to the bullshit hardcore/emo pussy music that is being heard locally and nationally. Look for this band to spread like a fucking disease and stay tuned to whatever is to come next.
