Artist Information
I am Nick Tara. I play guitar a lot and I sing. I write my own music and I love playing with other artists. Making music is something I am never forced to do it is something I love doing. I love being myself and writing things that come naturally. Hello! And welcome to my page! I am currently 15 years old and I play music. I have been writing songs for a long time. Not long ago like Bob Dylan, but since I was wee. I have only been playing guitar since the beginning of 8th grade. I started out on an old nylon string acoustic that was loaned to me by a friend of my mother. In bad condition and rarely in tune, I practiced until day in and day out. I played it as much as I could get my hands on on it, from anywhere to one hour to 4 hours a day and giving it all I had. Little did I know that within the next year I would be making bands and starting to sound out old songs I ahd written from as early as 3rd and 4th grade. Within a few months of playing guitar all I could, I got the urge to start a band. With this notion I got in and out of many types of bands. A little bit before I started playing guitar I was in a band that was quickly killed called Shallow Grave. Sounds metal, huh? Not really. We didn't really know what we were doing and just thought being in a band sounded cool. I soon moved up a notch after only playing for only about a month and got in a band called HeadCase. It was awesome! I didn't even own an electric guitar at the time but as soon as I got my hands on the drummer's older brother's guitar I just let loose! I'm sure whatever I was playing sounded terrible but to me it was beautiful. We played a variety of songs from a metal type of influence like Metallica and Trivium. We didn't use vocals, thus making us an instrumental three piece, because I wasn't comfortable with my singing at the time. The band ended a few months after our one and only show, which was a middle school talent show. I tried out another band with my good friend, Gabe "Ghandi" Sutton, called the PowerManiacs and we only lasted a few months. Then came a band that I am currently in called Electric Rose. But even with an awesome band like Electric Rose, I still love making my own songs by myself and experimenting with other people and jamming. "Some bands have the right genre. Some bands have the right taste. But what you need is the band with the right FEEL." "Nick was influenced early by Kid Rock, KISS, Led Zeppelin and Ted Nugent and created a personal style. His songs speak of love, sadness and of his experiences and fantasy. He avoids clichés such as the common anti-establishment protests common to young musicians. The maturity of his work belies his youth. Nick’s control of the guitar speaks of a personal passion and endless hours of practice. He has emulated and learned from some of the most technical guitar solos. His songs spill out of his need to express himself in his music and words—a trait he has shown since a very young age. Nick has played with several bands and in front of school audiences and neighborhood gatherings." -AlphaBeats Entertainment Albums you can find me on: Alphabeats ~ The Lesson: First Semester (2006) Etan ~ The Beginning (2006) Electric Rose ~ Best of 2006 LIVE (2007) Nick Tara ~ Beg to the Devil (DEMO) (2007)
